OVERLAND EXPO WEST

A Passion for Adventure

Overland Expo® is the world’s premier event series for do-it-yourself adventure travel enthusiasts, with hundreds of session-hours of classes for 4-wheel-drive enthusiasts and adventure motorcyclists, inspirational programs, speakers & trainers from all over the world, the Overland Film Festival, roundtable discussions, and more. There are four Overland Expo events held at separate locations across the country: West, Pacific Northwest, Mountain West and East.

For 2023, Toyota came to GAC to produce and coordinate the brand’s presence at all four Overland Expos. To follow is what GAC created at just one of the Expo events:

At the Overland Expo West, GAC partnered with Toyota to:

  • Expose Overland Expo West attendees to the best experiential engagement by way of off-road ride-along drives in Toyota trucks and SUVs with professional drivers
  • Build product awareness to a qualified audience
  • Interact with attendees by way of engaging events, branded premiums, and brand ambassadors
  • Introduce the Trailhunter® brand and 2024 Tacoma to a targeted audience.

GAC developed and produced a 70' X 150' activation footprint:

  • Branded popup tents
  • Five (5) vehicle displays with SMEs to answer vehicle questions
  • Three (3) iPads capturing data through eShots
  • Toyota-branded premiums
  • Branded signage with Toyota and Trailhunter® logos and activation information

We created an off-road driving course with up to four (4) vehicles driving the course at once in a caravan configuration so that flexing and configuration could be viewed by riders. Ride-along vehicles included two 2023 Toyota 4Runners and two 2022 Toyota Tundras.

We also produced a reveal party for the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma where Mike Trip and Sheldon Brown addressed the crowd, as well as a Fireside Chat with Toyota engineers that consisted of three Toyota engineers and a member of the press discussing the new Tacoma and answering questions about the vehicles. Throughout the activation, brand ambassadors provided Toyota-branded premiums to attendees and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) assisted them with any vehicle questions..
