The California International Auto Show (CIAS) had been known casually as the "Orange County Auto Show," sometimes even "the other show," with the Los Angeles Auto Show receiving top billing.
CIAS, operated jointly by the Orange County Auto Dealers Association (OCADA) and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association (SMCDA), was looking to break out from behind the shadow of the more prominent Southern California show.
